Details on the process

Each family collects and contributes to the One Day project on a volunteer basis. Shipping costs are provided to increase worldwide participation.

Participants are asked to collect ALL waste material used in the care of their medically fragile family member during a 24 hour period. This could include recyclable material, packaging, feeding supplies, and medications. Including bio hazard waste such as needles, vials and bodily fluids including secretions and diapers is encouraged. Including ALL waste material completes a brief portrait of the individual's life.

Participate in the One Day project

1) Contact for more details on the project and shipping information.

2) Collect the waste from your medically fragile family member(s) for 24 hours. No need to clean, rinse or alter waste before shipment.

3) Ship your collection.

4) Design, curation and photography of One Day completed.

4) Receive 1 print of your personal One Day project as well as 4 postcard size images to mail to your representatives.

5) Spread the word. Advocacy is powerful in numbers. Help me use my voice as an artist, by filling blank walls, pages of books and an entire website devoted to the often underrepresented population of those with multiple disabilities.

There is a critical need to educate those that may be unaware of the condition of a soul that survives through disability and fragility.
